Mitch Berkowitz is in the third year as the Rabbinic Intern of the Shelter Rock Jewish Center. He is in his penultimate year in the Rabbinical School at the Jewish Theological Seminary in NYC, where he is working towards rabbinic ordination and a Master of Arts in Talmud and Rabbinics. At SRJC, Mitch teaches weekly adult education courses, tutors Religious School students, delivers sermons on Shabbat, and is a regular presence at weekday minyanim and other synagogue functions. He has completed a unit of chaplaincy training at North Shore University Hospital. In previous summers, he has worked at Ramah Darom in Clayton, GA. Before attending JTS, Mitch studied History and International & Global Studies at Brandeis University. He grew up in Freehold, NJ and is excited to be living in the suburbs once again after spending a few years in NYC and Jerusalem. Mitch was married in August 2016 to Rebecca Ravski, a presence in the SRJC community since Mitch's arrival!
