North Hills Synagogue
Orthodox Minyan at Shelter Rock Jewish Center

About us

An Orthodox Minyan was established at SRJC almost 50 years ago. In 1991 the minyan moved out and became The North Hills Synagogue.  First in a private home, then in the former Boy Scout's building and back to a private home the synagogue flourished. In 2013 the decision was made to return to SRJC and to once again make our home in our dedicated space, the downstairs auditorium.

The North Hills Synagogue currently has Nusach Ashkenaz services on Shabbat and Holidays and upon request during the week for special occasions such as Rosh Chodesh or to commemorate a yahrtzeit. Our small but warm and friendly group enjoys a hot kiddush every shabbat as well as seuda shlishi in the spring and summer. Jews of all levels of observance are welcome. A community eruv (map available upon requests) is checked every week.
